To mark the 83rd birth anniversary of Kannada playback singer Dr. P.B. Srinivas (PBS), a musical programme — Mareyalagada Manikya Dr. P.B. Srinivas — has been organised at Kalamandira in city on Sept. 22 between 5 pm and 9 pm.

Dr. M.S. Natashekar and his team — Aarathi Rao, R.V. Navya, Sridevi Kulenoor and Hamsini S. Kumar — will perform on the occasion. Entry is free.

Artistes’ profile

Dr. M.S. Natashekar is a senior ENT Surgeon of Mysore city, practicing at “Shekar ENT Clinic” at Chamaraja Double Road. Medicine is his Profession and Music his Passion. He has been part of Geeth Gaatha Chal, a Doctors’ Musical Nite, that has been enthralling music lovers for the past 13 years. He has released Vachana Ganga CD. He has conducted musical nites in memory of the legendary singer Mukesh. This is his first full- fledged musical nite in Kannada.

Sridevi Kulenoor is an MBA graduate working in SJCE Centre for Management as an Asst. Professor. She is learning Bhavageethe from H.R. Leelavathi, and Hindustani music from Guru Shivadev. She has released CD Vachana Siri. She has lent her voice for many music CDs, private albums and film songs. She has participated in TV reality shows. She will be releasing a new CD shortly Hoovina Manasu, where she has penned the lyrics, composed music and sung the songs herself.

R.V. Navya is an Electronics Engineer from NIE College and will be joining Fidelity Investments firm shortly. She is learning Classical music from Vidu. Kamala Rajalakshmi and is learning Sugama Sangeeta from Vidu. Sunanda Dilip and Savitri Prabhakar. She has also learnt Gamaka from B.H. Nagarathna. She has given many music performances during Dasara and has participated in TV shows.

Aarathi Rao, a 1st Year MBBS student at SDM Medical College, Dharwad, has learnt Classical music from Vid. C.A. Nagaraj and Sugama Sangeeta from Savitri Prabhakar and Mahender. She has completed junior and senior exams in Bharathanatyam, under the guidance of Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao. She has participated in TV reality shows and has given music performances during Dasara festival.

Hamsini S. Kumar, a 10th standard student of Pramathi Hillview Academy, is learning Karnatak Classical music from Bhanumathi and Sugama Sangeeta from K.P. Revathi and Shubha Raghavendra. She started singing at the age of three and has received more than 300 prizes at various competitions. She has participated in reality shows and shared dias with SPB.
