With just four days left for the crucial polling for election to 65 Wards of MCC, the District Administration is all set for conduct elections on March 7 in accordance with the orders of the State Election Commission (SEC).
In its bid to ensure smooth polling, the District Administration has acquired more than 800 fully serviced Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) made at Bharath Electronics Ltd. for 686 polling booths established all over the city. About 3,000 personnel, mainly teachers from the University of Mysore, KSOU and other departments would be deployed during the voting and counting. Mustering of EVMs will be done at Maharani’s College, Baden Powell School and Ursu Boarding School on Mar. 6.
The de-mustering of these machines, which has to be completed within an hour of completion of the voting process, will be done at Maharani’s College, JSS Arts, Science & Commerce College on Ooty Road and JSS Pharmacy College on Mysore-Bangalore Road on Mar. 7.
The counting of votes will be held at Maharani’s College, JSS College on Ooty Road and JSS Pharmacy College on Mar. 11 and the results are expected to be announced by the same evening.
