The Direct Cash Transfer (DCT) of subsidy on cooking gas (LPG) will be effective from June 1 in 20 districts, stated Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha, in a press release issued here yesterday.

Oil Minister M. Veerappa Moily announced yesterday that 76 lakh consumers in 20 districts like Mysore, North Goa, Pondicherry, Mandi and Hyderabad will get Rs. 435 in their bank accounts every time they book an LPG refill.

These consumers then will have to buy cooking gas at market price which is double the Rs. 410.50 rate for a cylinder of 14.2 litres volume, he said.

For the convenience of LPG consumers, drop-boxes have been provided at the gas supplying agencies where the IFSC code of the bank, bank account number and a photocopy of the bank pass book of the account holder with name and number clearly legible, may be dropped.

Aadhaar numbers at MysoreOne

Many consumers who have enrolled for Aadhaar are yet to receive the 12-digit Aadhar number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India, according to the gas agencies here who said that they have been submitting a 28-digit temporary number, comprising the 14-digit enrolment number and the 14-digit date and time stamp of enrolment, for linking with the bank account.

But this is not compatible with the existing system, where only 12 digits can be programmed. In such cases, consumers may head to the nearest MysoreOne centre and furnish the enrolment ID to the operator, who will give the Aadhaar number if it has already been allotted.

The MysoreOne centres are at MUDA Gautham shopping complex, Siddartha Layout (Ph: 2470046); MUDA shopping complex, Ramakrishnanagar I Block (2460727); MCC Zonal Office, near Jayanagar railway gate (2330042); opposite City Zonal Corporation, #6, new Sheshadri Iyer Road, near RMC private bus stand (2421042); MUDA commercial complex, Gokulam 3rd stage (2411490); and Shalivahana Road, inside Radio Park, Nazarbad (2430103).

People who have enrolled for UID number but haven’t got their card yet, can use this service.
