MYSORE: If you like to act, here's a certified course that will authenticate your talent. The only government-run theatre repertory in India Rangayana is offering a one-year diploma course in theatre.

The course, recognized by Karnataka State Open university, will commence from July. The initiative was taken up after the successful staging of overnight play `Malegalalli Madhumagalu'. It is felt that interest in theatre activities is picking up among youths. Rangashale will impart education in theatre for free. However, it is mandatory for those who complete the course to serve Rangayana for a minimum of two years. This enables them to get training in professional acting.

Those who have passed in plus two and aged between 18 and 28 are eligible. Selected students will be given a monthly stipend apart from free accommodation. Applications and prospectus may be obtained by sending a DD or money order for Rs 50 to the director, Rangayana, Kalamandira, before June 5. The filled in applications must be submitted by June 15.
