The elephants are yet to get accustomed to the city as they have been brought from the forest reserve. On their arrival at Aranya Bhavan, the elephants were welcomed by the forest department officials. Even the Mahouts and Kavadis were also given a warm welcome.

The Mysore Palace Board has been preparing for a grand traditional welcome for the elephants tomorrow at 11 am. District Incharge Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad, Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha, Regional Commissioner M.V. Jayanthi and other officials will be present.

While the elephants were served with grass and leaves, the Kavadis and Mahouts were served with puliyogare and coffee for breakfast in the morning.

While Arjuna, the howdah elephant, looked cool and calm, other five elephants were a little tensed and disturbed as they found it difficult to adjust to the new environment.

The Mysore Palace Board has completed the construction of the sheds for Mahouts and Kavadis and will be distributing the groceries and stoves to the each Mahout and Kavadi families, who are expected to arrive at Mysore Palace soon.
