To provide necessary information and suggestions on Mysore Dasara to Chief Minister Siddharamaiah during the High Power Committee meeting to be held in the last week of July or the first week of August in Bangalore, a preliminary meeting was convened by Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha at her office this morning.

The DC instructed the officials at the meeting to update all necessary information regarding Dasara programmes in its website one month before the commencement of Mysore Dasara festivities for the benefit of tourists.

She also instructed the officials not to change the venues at the last minute as it can cause problems to visitors and tourists. Shikha asked the officials to decentralise the Dasara Committees, venues and events.

The Tourism Department was asked to take steps to provide information about Mysore Dasara programmes and their importance to the tourists besides asking the officials to garner more sponsorship this year.

She suggested separate seating for to foreign delegates and tourists during the grand Dasara procession and asked the officials to give preference to local artistes and folk arts such as Yakshagana and Kolata.

Suggesting the officials to get more sponsorships through Public Private Partnership (PPP), she asked them to submit their report within a week.
