The offices of the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) and Joint Director of Public Instruction (JDPI) on D. Subbaiah road in city was a beehive of activities today as nearly 1,500 Primary and High School Teachers of eight districts under Mysore Division took part in the counselling for their transfers.

While counselling for transfer of High School teachers from Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Mandya, Hassan, Chikamagalur, Udupi and Mangalore districts was being held under the supervision of DDPI B.K. Basavaraj, counselling for transfer of Primary School teachers entered its third day today under the supervision of JDPI Anand.

The Department had made elaborate arrangement for counselling by providing a huge television screen displaying availability of vacancies to help teachers to choose their desired places in the order of merit in three choices.

The Department had also provided drinking water, seating and other facilities for the convenience of those coming from other districts and relatives accompanying them.

The process of counselling for transfer of teachers is scheduled to end on July 12 and a large number of officials of the Education Department were seen assisting the teachers.
