The Dasara Flower Show at Curzon Park in city, one of the major attractions during the Dasara festivities, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on Oct. 5 at 4 pm.
He will be accompanied by Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa, Minister for Horticulture and Agriculture Produce, V. Sreenivasa Prasad, Revenue and District In-Charge Minister, MPs, MLAs and other people’s representatives.
The Flower Show will be held from Oct. 5 to Oct. 15.
The CM will also inaugurate the Garden Service Centre.
The main attraction during this year’s Dasara Flower Show will be a replica of the Golden Throne made up of 1 lakh roses, varieties of Orchid flowers and other flowers. Apart from this, other attractions include floral pyramids, heart-shaped floral entrances and a floral butterfly created with over 8,500 flowers of different varieties.
Flowers from Ooty, KRS, Horticulture Departments, Mysore City Corporation (MCC), Palace Board, BEML and other industries, organisations, hotels will also be displayed during the 10-day Flower Show.
Also, competitions like Vegetable carving, Floral Rangoli, Ikebana, Photography, Painting, Nature Photography, Indian Floral Arrangement, Bonsai will be conducted for the public from 10 am at Curzon Park everyday.
Bangalore based Indo American Centre, Namdhari seeds, Singent Nursery, Private Nurseries, Agricultural Sciences Centre-Suttur and University of Horticultural Sciences-Mysore will participate in the Dasara Flower Show.
