A day-long session on industrial safety organised jointly by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Department of factories, boilers, industrial safety and health commenced this morning at Hotel Sandesh the Prince in Nazarbad here.

About 200 representatives of various industries in the district are attending the session featuring lectures on occupational health, disaster management and allied subjects by resource persons. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director of Factories-Mysore Division B.V. Ravikumar pointed out that industrialists should also focus on safety measures instead of just concentrating on production and sales. He appealed to them to strictly abide by the industrial safety norms.

CII Mysore Vice-Chairman R.C. Jagadeesh welcomed the gathering. Session convenor V.K. Shanmugam and others were present.
