The sixth National Level Workshop for Fine Arts College Students organised by Chamarajendra Govt. College of Visual Arts also known as Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA) on Sayyaji Rao road began on Aug. 24 at the college premises.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. R. Balasubramaniam, Founder, Swami Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development in the presence of chief guests Ramdas Adyantaya, former Dean of CAVA, Walter D’Souza, Graphics artist from Ahmedabad, Narayan Sutradhar, Sculptor from Bangalore, Sridhar Kakade, Graphic Designer from Bangalore and Kiran Adithya, a photographer from Bangalore.
V.A.Deshpande, Dean, CAVA, speaking to Star of Mysore, said that the workshop is being conducted to create a bridge between the students and artists so that the students will get to know about new technologies and also to create a common platform for both.
Deshpande further said that the workshop will help students learn art forms of other States in the country, and also get to know student artists of other colleges.
Students from various colleges across the country are participating in the workshop like, Faculty of Fine Arts College, Vadodara, Kalabhavana Vishwa Bharathi, Shanthiniketan, College of Arts, New Delhi, J J School of Art, Dept. of Applied Art, Mumbai, JSS Haalabhaavi School of Art, Dharwad, College of Visual Arts, Gulbarga, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, & Ken School of Art, Bangalore and University College of Visual Arts, Davanagere.
He further said that a slide show presentation on the art work created by the students with the help of resource persons during the workshop is being held everyday from 4 pm to 5 pm at the CAVA premises for the public.
The workshop will conclude on Aug. 31.
