The public sector undertaking, Bharath Earth Movers Limited (BEML), annexed the Mayor Cup, having secured prizes in many sections in the annual flower show that marked the 400th anniversary of Mysore Dasara.
The company has dominated the show during the past 5 years by winning the champion trophy and Subbanna Puttaveeranna prize continuously. The first award was won for the best decorative garden and the second for growing vegetables in pots.
Satyavathi, Chief Executive Officer, Mysore Zilla Panchayat, presented the award to Rudraiah and Narayan, employees of BEML in the prize distribution function held on Monday in Curzon Park here.

SDM Institute for Management Development (The Sosale Siddiah Rolling Cup for the best educational institute garden); Assistant Horticultural Director's office (Dr. M.H. Mari Gowda Rolling Cup for the best arranged garden); Lalitha Bai of Yadavagiri (Ambika Rani rolling shield for large private residential gardens); Sumathi Sampath of Gangothri Layout (Curzon Park Rolling Cup for taking part in maximum number of events) and youngster C. Anarghya Aigal of Vijayanagar (Pushpashri Rolling Cup).
National Institute of Engineering (Bada Rolling Cup for the best garden); Vimala Suresh of Jayaprakash Nagar (Dr. M.H. Mari Gowda Rolling Shield for the best large residential garden); Mahadev of Vijayanagar (Gandabherunda Rolling Cup for the best garden among small home gardens); H.N. Vasantha (H.P. Ramakrishna Rolling shield for the best among tiny gardens).
More than 180 participants won prizes in various categories.
