Using a wooden replica of Mysore Palace, Bangalore’s Technobytes presented a demo of automation of Palace illumination utilising micro controllers which was viewed by the District in-charge Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad at Palace premises here today.

Presenting the demo, former IISC Professor and Software Developer of the scheme Dr. Ananthapadmanabha said that the automation of illumination would save a lot of power and replacement of bulbs would be minimised.

He further said that using micro controllers, 175 variants of illumination could be achieved in a span of one hour and added that the bulbs would glow from dim to bright gradually and in rhythmic phases of the building instead of a total illumination in one shot. He pointed out that the net animated illumination would be very attractive for tourists.

He was assisted by Dr. Nagaraj, former SJCE Professor.

After the demo, Sreenivasa Prasad said that he would discuss the matter with the government and assured to include the project in the budgeted allocation for development of Palace. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 1.5 crore.

Palace Board Dy. Director T.S. Subramanya and Technobyte Head Sheshadri were present.
