C.S. Rajanna yesterday took charge as DCP-I (Law and Order) from Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem at the latter’s office as outgoing DCP Basavaraj Malagathi was on leave.

A native of Kolar, Rajanna was working as an Additional SP in Mandya district besides having served at many places like Bangalore, Tumkur and Kolar and as the Additional SP of Lokayukta, Bangalore.

Speaking to Star of Mysore after taking charge, Rajanna said that he was delighted to have been posted to Mysore for the first time and added that he would take appropriate decisions after a detailed study of the situation in the city.

Stating that Mysore being a tourist destination, received lakhs of tourists during Dasara, the new DCP said that ensuring safety of tourists in the city would be his first priority.
