MUDA Chairman L. Nagendra yesterday said that the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) will hand over 18 layouts in its possession to Mysore City Corporation (MCC) before the end of this month.

Addressing a press conference at Hotel President in city, he said that Dattagalli 3rd Stage, Vijayanagar 3rd Stage, Srirampura 3rd Stage, Satagalli 1st Stage and other private layouts like Karanji Layout, LIC Layout, Vasu Layout and other layouts under MUDA jurisdiction will be handed over to the MCC.

Alleging that both JD(S) and Congress, which ruled MCC so far had failed to think in terms of developing the city, he added “But for the Rs. 100 crore aid given by the BJP Government, the MCC would have been in dire straits.”

Giving an account of his achievements as MUDA Chairman, he said that Rs. 3.5 crore had been earmarked for the development of Chamundi Hill, Rs. 7 crore for setting up of hi-tech crematorium and development besides giving preference to widening of roads and developing the road from Kalamandira to Kukkarahalli Lake at a cost of Rs. 1 crore, broadening the road between Shantaveri Gopala Gowda Hospital and Mysore Milk Dairy at a cost of Rs. 1 crore.

Stating that MUDA had already allotted sites in Chamalapura and Laithadripura Layouts, he added that sites in R.T. Nagar would be allotted soon.
