Bangalore, May 15 (KMS& KMC)- Jet Airways will be commencing its flight services from Mandakalli Airport from the first week of June, said Indian Industries Federation's State President Aroor Raman.
Though the airport was formally inaugurated today, Jet Airways flights will take off once a day from June, he said and added that two more private aviation companies had come forward to offer air services.
It is estimated that on an average 6,000 passengers are to fly from Mysore in a month, most of them from Infosys, Wipro and 40 other industries in the city.
Based on this report and an assurance that the 6,000 passengers per month will fly apart from the tourists and occasional flyers, Jet Airways agreed to commence operations.
The flight is expected to take off from Mysore at 5.30 am and land at Bangalore International Airport (BIA) in Devanahalli at 6.05 am.
Provisions have been made for the passengers from Mysore to continue their onward journey by air to Delhi and Mumbai.
Till now, those who had booked flights from Bangalore had to travel to Bangalore a day ahead and then catch their flight, after going through all formalities.
But now, the passengers from Mysore need not pass through one more security check at Bangalore airport. They can board their connecting flight directly.
