Mysore Dasara Events 2026 will be organised during the festival period from Sunday, 11 October to Wednesday, 21 October 2026. The programme includes religious ceremonies, cultural performances, Yuva Dasara, the Dasara Exhibition, sports, Jamboo Savari and the Torchlight Parade.

Yuva Dasara 2026 will be held from 13 to 17 October at Uttanahalli, off the Mysuru–Nanjangud Road, with Ajaneesh Loknath, Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Sid Sriram, a Sandalwood Night and Jasmine Sandlas. Local cultural programmes start at 5.30 pm and the main concerts run from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Yuva Sambhrama 2026, the student programme, has already concluded.

Sunday, 11 October 2026 – Opening Day

18–20 October 2026 – Surya Kiran Air Show and Kambala
- Air show: The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team performs from 18 to 20 October. Venue, timings and entry arrangements will be added after announcement.
- Kambala: Traditional buffalo races on 18 and 19 October
Tuesday, 20 October 2026 – Mahanavami and Preparations
Religious and ceremonial programmes associated with Mahanavami and Ayudha Pooja will be held at the Kalyana Mantap of Mysore Palace. Mysore Palace is closed to visitors for the whole day. Rehearsals and final preparations may also affect access around Mysore Palace and Bannimantap.
A full-dress rehearsal for the Torchlight Parade may be held at Bannimantap, subject to confirmation.

Main Mysore Dasara Event Categories

Mysore Palace Cultural Programmes
Classical music, dance, folk performances and major stage programmes are traditionally organised at Mysore Palace and selected cultural venues.
Yuva Dasara
Yuva Dasara is the main youth-focused entertainment programme of Mysore Dasara. Yuva Dasara 2026 runs from 13 to 17 October at a large open ground near the Jwalamukhi Tripura Sundari Temple in Uttanahalli, off the Mysuru–Nanjangud Road on the outskirts of the city.
Local artistes perform from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, followed by the main concert from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Prabhu Deva inaugurates the programme on 13 October with B. Ajaneesh Loknath and troupe. Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy perform on 14 October, Sid Sriram on 15 October, a Sandalwood Night with Shiva Rajkumar, Rachita Ram, Vijay Prakash and others on 16 October, and Jasmine Sandlas closes the programme on 17 October. The venue is outside central Mysore, so plan your return before the show ends; traffic towards the city builds up quickly after the final performance.
Yuva Sambhrama
Yuva Sambhrama provides a stage for school and college students to present music, dance and themed cultural performances. Yuva Sambhrama 2026 began on 29 September at the Kuvempu Open Air Theatre, Manasagangotri, and concluded with its grand finale in the first week of October.
Dasara Exhibition
The Mysore Dasara Exhibition is held at Doddakere Maidan, opposite Mysore Palace. The 2026 exhibition opens on 11 October and runs for about 90 days, until 8 January 2027. Timings, rides, stalls and entry fee are covered on the dedicated Exhibition page.
Dasara Flower Show
The Dasara Flower Show is commonly organised at Kuppanna Park and features floral installations, themed displays and landscaped exhibits. The 2026 dates, timings and ticket information are awaited.
Dasara Food Festival
The food festival showcases Mysore, Karnataka and other regional cuisines. Its 2026 dates, venue and operating hours will be added after announcement.
Dasara Wrestling
Traditional wrestling is one of the long-established sporting components of Mysore Dasara. Competitions have previously been held at D. Devaraj Urs Multipurpose Stadium near the Exhibition Grounds.
Dasara Air Show
The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will perform at Mysuru Dasara 2026 from 18 to 20 October. The Sarang helicopter display team will not take part this year.
Dasara Sports and Yoga
State-level and public sporting events, demonstrations and yoga programmes may be organised at stadiums and public grounds across Mysore.
Children’s, Women’s and Rural Dasara
Special programmes may be organised for children, women, rural communities, farmers and local cultural groups at separate auditoriums, grounds and institutional venues.
Heritage, Art and Cultural Activities
Heritage walks, art exhibitions, theatre, poetry, film screenings and craft events may be organised at Mysore’s palaces, museums, auditoriums and public spaces. The 2026 Dasara Kavigoshti (Kannada poetry) runs from 13 to 17 October at the B.M. Sri Auditorium, University of Mysore.

Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, Chamundi Hill
The traditional venue for the opening pooja and religious inauguration of Mysore Dasara.
Mysore Palace Grounds
The principal venue for major cultural programmes, royal ceremonies, palace illumination and the beginning of Jamboo Savari.
Bannimantap Parade Grounds
The established venue for concluding ceremonies, the Torchlight Parade and related rehearsals.
Doddakere Maidan
The fixed location of the Mysore Dasara Exhibition, opposite Mysore Palace.
Uttanahalli (Yuva Dasara 2026)
A large open ground near the Jwalamukhi Tripura Sundari Temple, off the Mysuru–Nanjangud Road, selected as the Yuva Dasara venue for 2026.
Kuppanna Park
A recurring venue for the Dasara Flower Show and horticultural displays.
Maharaja’s College Grounds
Frequently used for large public events, food festivals and selected youth or entertainment programmes.
D. Devaraj Urs Multipurpose Stadium
Associated with traditional Dasara wrestling and related competitions near the Exhibition Grounds.
Kalamandira
A major Mysore auditorium used for theatre, music, dance, children’s events and other cultural programmes.
Jaganmohan Palace Auditorium
A heritage cultural venue used for classical music, dance and auditorium programmes during different editions of Dasara.
Other Cultural Venues
Town Hall, Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavana, the Kuvempu Open Air Theatre at Manasagangotri and other auditoriums or public grounds may be included in the final cultural programme.
Jamboo Savari – 21 October 2026
The Jamboo Savari will take place on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. The procession begins within the Mysore Palace premises and proceeds towards Bannimantap.
The idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari is carried in the golden howdah on a decorated elephant. Cultural troupes, musicians, police bands, tableaux and decorated animals also form part of the procession. In 2026, contingents from the Army, Navy and Air Force will also take part, and five elephants, including Dhananjaya and Ekalavya, are being trained to carry the Golden Howdah.
The Nandi Dhwaja Pooja, floral tribute, procession start time, public viewing areas and reserved-seating arrangements will be added after the final official programme is issued.

Torchlight Parade at Bannimantap
The Torchlight Parade, locally called Panjina Kavayatthu, will be held at Bannimantap Parade Grounds on Wednesday, 21 October 2026 as part of the concluding celebrations.
The programme may include ceremonial formations, equestrian displays, police or defence demonstrations, music and coordinated lighting.
Mysore Dasara Event Entry, Tickets and Gold Card
Entry arrangements vary by event. Many public cultural programmes are free, while reserved seating, Jamboo Savari viewing and the Torchlight Parade require tickets or passes.
Dasara Gold Card
The Mysore Dasara Gold Card has traditionally provided access to selected festival events and tourist attractions. Its price, availability, validity and included entry points change each year.
Buy Gold Cards and event tickets only through the official Mysuru Dasara booking channels, and check the current price and inclusions there before paying. Avoid resellers.
Reserved Jamboo Savari Seating
Reserved viewing is controlled through Gold Cards, tickets or official passes. Public viewing outside reserved enclosures is subject to police barricades and crowd-management arrangements.
Torchlight Parade Entry
Ticket categories, entry gates, reporting times and seating conditions are published through the official booking channels.
