Tuesday, 20 October 2026 – Mahanavami and Preparations
Religious and ceremonial programmes associated with Mahanavami and Ayudha Pooja are expected. Rehearsals and final preparations may also affect access around Mysore Palace and Bannimantap.
A full-dress rehearsal for the Torchlight Parade may be held at Bannimantap, subject to confirmation.

Main Mysore Dasara Event Categories
The following are recurring parts of Mysore Dasara, although their programme dates, performers, timings and annual venue allocations can change.
Mysore Palace Cultural Programmes
Classical music, dance, folk performances and major stage programmes are traditionally organised at Mysore Palace and selected cultural venues.
Yuva Dasara
Yuva Dasara is the main youth-focused entertainment programme and generally features popular singers, bands and large stage performances. The 2026 dates, venue, performers and entry conditions are awaited.
Yuva Sambhrama
Yuva Sambhrama generally provides a platform for college students and youth groups to present music, dance and themed cultural performances. The participating institutions, venue and schedule will be announced separately.
Dasara Exhibition
The Mysore Dasara Exhibition is held at Doddakere Maidan, opposite Mysore Palace. Its dates, timings, rides, stalls and entry fee follow a separate schedule maintained on the dedicated Exhibition page.
Dasara Flower Show

Dasara Wrestling
Traditional wrestling is one of the long-established sporting components of Mysore Dasara. Competitions have previously been held at D. Devaraj Urs Multipurpose Stadium near the Exhibition Grounds.
Dasara Sports and Yoga
State-level and public sporting events, demonstrations and yoga programmes may be organised at stadiums and public grounds across Mysore.
Children’s, Women’s and Rural Dasara
Special programmes may be organised for children, women, rural communities, farmers and local cultural groups at separate auditoriums, grounds and institutional venues.
Heritage, Art and Cultural Activities
Heritage walks, art exhibitions, theatre, poetry, film screenings and craft events may be organised at Mysore’s palaces, museums, auditoriums and public spaces.

Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, Chamundi Hill
The traditional venue for the opening pooja and religious inauguration of Mysore Dasara.
Mysore Palace Grounds
The principal venue for major cultural programmes, royal ceremonies, palace illumination and the beginning of Jamboo Savari.
Bannimantap Parade Grounds
The established venue for concluding ceremonies, the Torchlight Parade and related rehearsals.
Doddakere Maidan
The fixed location of the Mysore Dasara Exhibition, opposite Mysore Palace.
Kuppanna Park
A recurring venue for the Dasara Flower Show and horticultural displays.
Maharaja’s College Grounds
Frequently used for large public events, food festivals and selected youth or entertainment programmes.

Jamboo Savari – 21 October 2026
The Jamboo Savari will take place on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. The procession begins within the Mysore Palace premises and proceeds towards Bannimantap.
The idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari is carried in the golden howdah on a decorated elephant. Cultural troupes, musicians, police bands, tableaux and decorated animals also form part of the procession.
The Nandi Dhwaja Pooja, floral tribute, procession start time, public viewing areas and reserved-seating arrangements will be added after the final official programme is issued.

Torchlight Parade at Bannimantap
The Torchlight Parade, locally called Panjina Kavayatthu, will be held at Bannimantap Parade Grounds on Wednesday, 21 October 2026 as part of the concluding celebrations.
The programme may include ceremonial formations, equestrian displays, police or defence demonstrations, music and coordinated lighting.
Mysore Dasara Event Entry, Tickets and Gold Card
Entry arrangements vary by event. Some public cultural programmes may be free, while reserved seating, concerts, Jamboo Savari viewing and the Torchlight Parade may require tickets or passes.
Dasara Gold Card
The Mysore Dasara Gold Card has traditionally provided access to selected festival events and tourist attractions. Its price, availability, booking method, validity and included entry points can change each year.
The official 2026 Gold Card price and sale dates have not yet been announced. Use only authorised booking channels.
Reserved Jamboo Savari Seating
Reserved viewing may be controlled through Gold Cards, tickets or official passes. Public viewing outside reserved enclosures may be subject to police barricades and crowd-management arrangements.
Torchlight Parade Entry
Ticket categories, entry gates, reporting times and seating conditions will be added after the official release.
