Ashodaya Samithi presents MIME show

"The society very badly needs a social equality system to curb gradation based on caste and religion,” opined Prof. M.G. Krishnan, Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka State Open University.

He was speaking after launching the Ranga Pradarshana (Theatre festival) programme organised by Ashodaya Samithi at Sriranga auditorium in Rangayana premises here yesterday.

He pointed out that many people tend to exhibit inhibition to express their personal problems openly owing to continuous struggle amid social and economic problems which gets aggravated owing to the gradation in society.

He regretted that sex workers were looked down upon as destitutes. He lauded the efforts of Ashodaya Samithi in social- uplifting of sex workers to bring them to mainstream of society.

Speaking on the occasion, Pandavapura Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dhanyakumar opined that theatre only had the strength to bind people. He added that every individual had a hidden talent which should be tapped.

Journalist Vasuki, Ashodaya Samithi Chairperson Sathya, Director Bhagyalakshmi and others were present.
