Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman B.P. Manjunath disclosed that some representatives of various organisations who organised the AKKA event in New Jersey, USA recently, will come to the city to witness Mysore Dasara festival. He had extended invitation to them to take part in the festival at Mysore, after describing its various special features, he said.
Around 15 representatives of the organisations based in the USA are expected to respond to his invitation and take part in the festival, he told Star of Mysore.
He recalled the opportunities given to a lady Kannada artiste from the USA in the last year's Dasara festival when Shobha Karandlaje was the District In-charge Minister.
Asked about the controversy surrounding this year's Akka meet, Manjunath admitted that some participants in Akka from Karnataka had experienced inconveniences. That was due to laxity in co-ordination, he opined. Considering the glory of the State's culture, as portrayed by the artistes during Akka, it is appropriate that such inconvenience are played down, he said.
