Mysore, July 31 (MTY&DM)-The GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK-EM&RI) in association with BIG FM 92.7 and Prajavani, has embarked on a unique 24-day campaign, starting from Aug. 2, to spread awareness about 108 Ambulance service.
Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan yesterday, the GVK-EM&RI-108 Karnataka's (senior partner marketing) K.S. Gurucharan said, many emergencies go unattended due to ignorance among the people about the existence of 108 free emergency response services. As such, the GVK EMRI has embarked on a unique awareness campaign to enhance on 108 service and to clear any misgivings about the service, by holding a rural connect progra-mme in 7 Districts from Aug.2 to 25. The campaign will cover Ramanagar, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada.
The GVK-EM&RI has availed services of an agency for conducting street plays by drama troupe. The troupe will stage street plays which will be international in nature covering different aspects of 108 service.
"The plays will be mainly based on the theme 'Call 108' in case of road accidents, delivery complications, heart attacks, fire breakouts or fire accidents, stomach pain, etc." he explained.
