A 25-year-old-youth from Manchegowdanakoppal in city, who reportedly attempted suicide 20 days ago for failing to get money from his father to buy a lorry, is undergoing treatment at Aaditya Hospital on Contour Road in Gokulam.

The youth has been identified as Santosh, son of Narayana Gowda, residing near Cauvery Circle in Manchegowdanakoppal.

It is reported that Santosh, who was interested in doing business on his own had sought help from his father to purchase a lorry to which his father reportedly asked Santosh to continue with the contract business along with his elder brother Yogesh who owned two lorries.

Despite being consoled by his father over the proposal, Santosh on July 16 consumed poison at his house following which he was shifted to Aaditya Hospital for treatment.

The plight of Narayana Gowda, who has been spending lot of money on the treatment of Santosh, who is battling for life in the ICU of the Hospital for the past 20 days, is only to be seen to be understood.

Narayana Gowda, who hails from Doddabyadarahalli village in Pandavapura taluk, has two sons and two daughters. The daughters have been married. It is indeed tragic that a 25-year-old son, who is duty- bound to take care of the 75-year-old father, is being taken care by the aged father.
