Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens and National Cadet Corps (NCC), Mysore, will jointly celebrate World Tigers Day on July 29 at the Mysore Zoo premises involving Mysore Zoo volunteers.
About 150 NCC cadets are likely to participate in the programme to create awareness about tiger conservation.
The programme schedule is as follows: 9 am to 10 am— Mysore Zoo tour; 10 am to 12 noon —Enrichment activities in 10 animal enclosures identified; 12 noon to 1 pm —Visit to Mysore Zoo Hospital, including demonstration of tranquilising equipments; 2 pm to 3 pm —Interaction with the keeper of tiger enclosure; 3 pm to 4 pm —Talk on tiger.
A few identified animal enclosures will be taken up for enrichment, where planting of desired plant species and construction of wooden platforms etc., will be taken up to create natural settings, according to Mysore Zoo Executive Director.
