Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB)-Mysore Vice-Chairman and Star of Mysore Editor-in-Chief K.B. Ganapathy said: “A person is the master of his own destiny. A Guru or teacher can only light up the path to success. But it is you yourself alone who will have to tread the path and attain success.”

He was speaking after inaugurating a day-long workshop on personality development called Jeevanotsaha conducted by Jayaprakash Nagathihalli, a soft-skills trainer and former television anchor, at Bhavan’s Priyamvada Birla Institute of Management (BPBIM) auditorium in Vijayanagar 1st Stage in city.

“A human being has multiple talents which need to be identified and channelised in the right direction for which a medium or forum is required. The ongoing workshop is one such forum that will provide the right opportunity for such talents,” Ganapathy said and added that an achiever needs to have confidence and will-power.

Resource person Jayaprakash Nagathihalli said he has been holding such workshops for the employees of government, corporate and private sectors for the past 15 years.

BVB Karnataka Chairman N. Ramanuja presided over the programme. BVB Mysore Chairman Prof. A.V. Narasimha Murthy, Treasurer A.T. Bhashyam, NIE President-Emeritus Sampath Iyengar and others were present. Nearly 200 students from different colleges from the city are taking part.
