“The contribution of Indian acousticians in the field of noise pollution, sound and vibration, acoustic emission, speech and hearing, musical acoustics, non-destructive testing, technical acoustics etc., are commendable and internationally recognised,” said Dr. V. Rajendran, President of Acoustic Society of India (ASI).
He was speaking after inaugurating the two-day National workshop on “Advancements in Electro-acoustic measurements” organised by the Department of Electronics of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysore.
He said that the contribution of AIISH to the field of speech and music acoustics was outstanding.
He opined that the workshop was also on these lines of disseminating the expertise in the area of measurement acoustics.
Jens Karasawa Christensen, Product Manager, B & K, Denmark who was also present said that the relationship between B & K and AIISH is about 45 years. B & K has been supporting the acoustic measurement activities at AIISH and would continue to do so in future also, he said and lauded the efforts of the scientists and researchers at AIISH in the usage of the technology provided by B & K for the service of persons with communication disorders.
Dr. S.R. Savithri, Director, AIISH presided over the event. Prof. Ajish K. Abraham was the facilitator of the workshop.
About 100 delegates from various speech and hearing institutes, hearing aid industries and engineering colleges took part in the workshop.
