Mysore, July 20 (KCU&RK)- Over 300 officers and staff of Police Intelligence Wing coming under South Zone comprising Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and Hassan districts are participating in a day-long workshop on 'Intelligence Information Collection,' which co-mmenced this morning at Rani Bahadur auditorium of Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences on Hunsur Road here.

City Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal inaugurated the day-long workshop which is learn't to be aimed at strengthening the Intelligence Wing by providing useful tips on collection of data.

South Zone IGP A.S.N. Murthy, Intelligence Wing SP Jawaharlal, Assistant Director of Intelligence Bureau Padmakumar, DCP (Law & Order) Basavaraj Malagatti, DCP (Crime and Traffic) P. Rajendra Prasad, Police Superintendents Rama Subba (Mysore), Sharatchandra (Hassan), Kaushalendra Kumar (Mandya), Manjunath Annageri (Kodagu) and Additional SP (Mysore) P. Venkataswamy were present.

Briefing the press persons on the workshop prior to its commencement, A.S.N. Murthy said that the Intelligence Wing had to be ably supported by efficient collection of intelligence data, scripting and execution of work.

"The intelligence data may be pertaining to naxalism, terrorism, espionage or any anti-social activities. A good co-ordination need to be established between the officers and staff of Police Stations and the Intelligence Bureau with due regard for human relations. Instigation leading to security threat has to be tackled methodically in its own unique way," observed Murthy.
