SP R. Dileep yesterday disclosed that so far 32 cases of violation of Election Code of Conduct have been registered in the district besides seizure of Rs. 13.18 lakh cash, 13 cases registered against liquor sellers and seizure of 57.68 litres of liquor.
Stating that there were 219 hypersensitive, 447 sensitive and 1,154 ordinary polling booths in Periyapatna, K.R.Nagar, Hunsur, H.D.Kote, Nanjangud, T.N. Pur, Chamundeshwari and Varuna constituencies in the district, Dileep added that 1,322 licenced arms have been deposited at jurisdictional Police Stations in the district.
Dileep also said that 1,419 people had been booked under various Sections of Cr.PC and added that the District Police had sought expulsion of 37 people from entering the district from the Deputy Commissioner out of which 27 have been barred from entering the district.
He also disclosed that 38 check posts have been set up throughout the district and added that a meeting of senior officers had been held to ensure smooth, free and fair elections.
Dileep has urged citizens who come across incidents of violation of Poll Code of Conduct to bring to the notice of the officers.
