The 'Hop-On Hop-Off' bus service to be launched today by KSRTC in city for the benefit of tourists would be a regular feature even after Dasara. This was disclosed by Tourism Minister R.V. Deshpande to the media, after holding a meeting with officials at the DC's office here today.

Deshpande said that the new service would have the theme 'Mysore on wheels' where tourists could visit 15 spots with no hassles, for which tickets could be booked online also, through

He added that it is proposed to operate chartered flights to city from Bangalore during Dasara.

The Minister said that good publicity would be given for Dasara at all airports in metro cities and on metro rails in Delhi. The department will be coming out with an exclusive short film on Dasara soon, he added.

Referring to Dasara Exhibition, Deshpande said that it was proposed to convert the Expo into a year-long event with unique features. He also added that this year the Expo would have a special garden for senior citizens and kids.

Deshpande said that cleanliness would be given top priority and a bottle of packed water would be given free of cost to visitors at the ticket counter. Surveillance cameras would be installed at strategic points to monitor security, he added.

Summing up, the Minister announced that the Centre had provided a fund of Rs. 5.25 crore for developments in Palace and Rs. 8 crore for renovations at Brindavan Gardens and other spots. Referring to the complaints of fleecing of tourists at parking lots, the Minister said that the DC and SP have been instructed to look into the issue.
