Mysore Tahasildar Naveen Joseph, in a press release, has said that stern action would be initiated against any one trying to develop a layout on the 9.09 plot of land in Survey No. 58 in Kergalli village in Jayapura hobli as it is a lake besides being a property of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
It is reported that Jayapura Revenue Inspector, on July 12, had submitted a report that some persons claiming to have clearance from MUDA had undertaken works at the said spot. During an inspection, he found two persons named Bogadi Kumar and Patil, who claimed that they were developing layout on lands under Survey No. 60 of the same village which is a revenue land which had not been alienated.
The press release adds that during an inspection of the spot on Survey No. 58 on July 13, 2013, the Tahasildar found one Patil seated in a Honda City Car (KA 04 MD 6066) claiming to be developing the land for a certain Housing Society allegedly owned by one Venkateshan.
Stating that it is a clear case of vested interests trying to grab government lands, the Tahasildar has warned that stern action under Section 192(A) of Karnataka Land Revenue Act 1964 and other provisions in the IPC will be initiated against anyone involved in the land grab bid.
The Tahasildar has also filed a complaint with Mysore Rural Police on behalf of the Government of Karnataka on July 18.
