The Karnataka government has earmarked Rs.2 crore for renovation of city's famed St. Philomena's Church — one of the most popular tourist spots of the cultural capital which has, of late, developed cracks — in the State budget for the year 2013-14 presented yesterday.

It may be recalled that Star of Mysore had published a detailed report on the condition of the historic elegant heritage structure which was crying for renovation and thanks to District In-charge Minister S.A.Ramdas, who evinced special interest to ensure allotment of funds for renovation of the church, the government has allocated the fund.

The famous Church attracts lakhs of devotees and tourists every year.
