Former Minister and prominent KJP leader Shobha Karandlaje hosted breakfast to Dasara elephant care takers in the Palace premises here on Sunday.
Former Chief Minister and KJP founder B.S. Yeddyurappa too was part of the breakfast, which is being hosted by Shobha for the sixth consecutive year.
Speaking on the occasion, Shobha Karandlaje called for setting up an exclusive Authority to celebrate the festivities being undertaken by the Government across the State.
Pointing out that the main focus of such an authority should be the Dasara festivities, Shobha observed that a senior IAS officer would be a better choice to head the authority.
Noting that the Dasara festivities this year could have been conducted in a much more organised manner, now that Siddharamaiah hailing from the district is the Chief Minister, Shobha called for measures to end the menace of Dasara passes being sold in black.
Shobha along with Yeddyurappa performed special pooja to Dasara elephant Balarama. Later, Balarama’s Mahout Thimma was feted.
The breakfast menu included Idli, Vada, Sambar, Kesari Bath, Pongal etc.
MLC Bharathi Shetty and others were present.
Shobha climbs hill
Earlier, Shobha Karandlaje began the Ayudha Pooja day by climbing the Chamundi Hill steps at 6.15 am, along with MLC Bharathi Shetty.
She climbed the 1001 steps to the Chamundi Temple bare-footed and without taking any break or rest on the way.
After performing special pooja at the temple, Shobha arrived at the Palace premises at about 8.30 am, where she hosted breakfast for Mahouts and Kavadis.
