Mysore, Oct. 8 (MRS)- Managements of Private Educational institutions have expressed their displeasure over the district administration’s action in taking over their vehicles for Dasara work.

They complain that a circular from the Additional District Magistrate on Oct. 7 at around 3.30 pm asked the managements to produce the vehicles along with the drivers at the DC’s office within two hours.

"The vehicles are the property of the institutions and they are worried about the safety of the vehicles. It is understandable that the private vehicles are taken over by the government only during emergencies. Ferrying the artistes from the venue of the Dasara programmes and dropping them back at the places where they stay is not at all an emergency work. The district administration can hire vehicles from professional operators as the government had allocated adequate funds for holding Dasara," an executive of a school management observed.

The drivers of the school vehicles too will be on Dasara holiday. How can we force him to work? he asked.

An office-bearer of another institution said that the district administration should have called the meeting of the institution heads well in advance and taken them into confidence while taking such decisions.
