In the wake of Central Government making Aadhar Card mandatory for LPG subsidy’s direct cash transfer, the rush for enrolment at various centres in city has been increasing day by day.
A chaotic situation was reported yesterday at Mysore City Corporation (MCC) Zonal Office-9 in Gayatripuram where a huge number of people allegedly scrambled to get photographed for Aadhar cards resulting in verbal duels.
The Zone-9 Assistant Commissioner Mahesh soon rushed to the spot, pacified the warring crowd and defused the situation.
Under the second phase of Aadhar enrolment which commenced in December last, 25 enrolment centres including 12 in city were opened in the district and 37,000 people have been enrolled during the phase, according to Unique Identification Authority sources.
The Authority sources claim that 35 people could be enrolled every day at a centre with one system.
