The Karnataka Government has earmarked Rs. 3,600 crore to be spent on activities relating to providing social security to the disabled people, said Co-operation Minister H.S. Mahadevaprasad here today.

He was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Odalu,’ a boys’ home built by Odanadi Seva Samsthe at Mandakalli adjacent to BEML layout.

District In-charge and Revenue Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad, who was also present, said despite abundant availability of infrastructure and manpower, the country has not been able to ensure employment to the youth.

He also lauded Odanadi for its continued efforts to provide social security to disabled people by involving in activities such as establishing homes for the needy, thus displaying a high degree of humanitarian concern.

Former Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Michael F. Saldanha; Preetha Vincent of Adventure Ashrama, London; Gordon William Robinson of Odanadi, London Unit; artiste K.T. Shivaprasad; Stanley and Parashu of Odanadi, Mysore were present on the occasion.
