Mysore, Sept. 28 (BRS&LH)- Residents of the city will soon get a chance to savor the intense love symbolised by Taj Mahal of Agra. A replica of the monument is taking shape in the city. This follows the earlier creations of the likes of Amaranath's Shivalinga made of ice and Sri Vaishnodevi temple near Jammu.
An exact replica of Taj Mahal is being created on a one-acre land in Dasara exhibition grounds, with about 130 artisans on the project, conceived by Velu of Chennai. The work began on Sept. 2 and is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 8, in time before the inauguration of the Dasara exhibition, when it will be open for public viewing. Fun World & Resort of Bangalore, who have secured the contact for gate collections with a bid of ` 1.95 crore through global tender, have sponsored the project. Similar look-alikes of Taj Mahal have already been created by the company in Chennai, Tripura and Coimbatore (Kovai) which has now come forward to create the structure in Mysore. It is made of fibreglass and plaster of Paris and other materials.
Entry fee of Rs. 30 for adults and Rs. 20 for children will be collected from visitors who wish to view the monument, disclosed Vinod Kumar Sabharwal, owner of Fun World.
