Mysore, June 1-Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (JUSCO), which has been entrusted with the contract for improving water distribution in 65 Wards within Mysore City Corporation (MCC) limits under JnNURM through Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board, has started implementing the works.

Under the scope of project, JUSCO will provide brand new connections by replacing existing connections, including installation of new meters. The cost of providing new connections will be met out of JnNURM funds and customers will not be charged.

However, this benefit is to be made available only to properties with authorised connections. Those properties which do not have authorised connections may avail of the benefits by immediately applying for regularisation to MCC through Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) as per existing Rules.

MCC or their authorised representatives will check the legal status of each property connection before providing the new connections. Hence, consumers are requested to produce the latest paid water bill to authorised representative when they approach for verification.

As the project aims to provide 24x7 water through improved distribution network, citizens whose connections are unauth-orised are requested to ensure they enjoy the benefits of continuous water supply by getting an authorised connection following the existing procedure.
