Bangalore, Sept. 22 (MRS)- The newly inducted Minister S.A. Ramdas today announced his resolve to build Mysore, his home town, as a model city.
Talking to media persons at Raj Bhavan, he said it was natural for him to love his hometown and strive for its development.
The much-elated Ramdas, referring to the forthcoming Dasara, the first after he became the Minister, said, "As a Minister I will see that Dasara this time will be common man's Dasara."
Claiming that he has been a fighter throughout his life, he recalled that he involved himself in movements and struggles since his student days.
He promised to mobilise all possible resources to build Mysore which had given him a lot and shaped his political life.
BJP had grown with the principle of 'Antyodaya' (welfare of the downtrodden) and the commitment will continue, he added.
Ramdas said that he would work with discipline being the son of an ex-serviceman. "My father served the army for nearly 25 years and during China war, he escaped from the jaws of death," he recalled.
He claimed that there is no dissidence in the party. "There may be differences in sentiments but not in principles," he observed.
The new Minister promised to work like a bridge between the government and the party.
Ramdas profusely thanked State BJP Chief Eshwarappa and Chief Minister Yeddyurappa for providing him an opportunity.
