Mysore, Sept. 26 (MTY&DM)- Two separate rallies marked the observance of World Heart Day in city today.
The Mysore Branch of Cardiology Society of India (CSI) took out an awareness rally (Jagruthi Jaatha) from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the northern gate of the Palace this morning.
City Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal flagged of the rally in which students from different nursing colleges in the city, medical college students and members of the CSI Mysore Chapter took part.
The rally then wound its way through K.R. Circle, Devaraj Urs Road, N.S.Road before ending at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall at J.K. grounds.
The rallyists held up placards that had messages on heart care. They also distributed pamphlets about heart diseases and heart care to members of the public along the route. CSI Secretary Dr. M. Mahesh and others were present.
Cycling for heart’s sake: A cycle rally was also taken out by Apollo BGS Hospitals in the city to mark the World Heart Day.
DCP Basavaraj Malagatti flagged off the rally which began from Apollo hospital premises and passed through New Kantharaj Urs road, Saraswathipuram, MUDA offices, Vinoba road, Vishwamanava Double road and Adichunchanagiri road before concluding at the hospital.
BGS Medical Services Director Dr. S.M. Ravindranath, Cardiologists Sunil Kumar, Keshava Murthy, Shyam Prasad Shetty and Murali Krishna took part.
