The day-6 of Navarathri celebrations began with the scion of the royal family Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar offering prayers to Goddess Saraswathi with traditional fervour inside the Amba Vilas Palace between 10.45 am and 11.45 am in the auspicious Vrischika Lagna and Moola Nakshatra this morning.
The rituals commenced with worship at Khaasa Devara Mane following which ‘Saraswathi Archane Puja’ was offered to the centuries-old portrait of Goddess Saraswathi along with the Palace collection of books on Verses, Vedas, etc. amidst the chanting of mantras.
Palace priests Manjunath Sharma, Janardhan Iyengar, Srihari and others assisted Wadiyar in performing the rituals.
Meanwhile, Chamundi Hill Temple Priest Shashishekar Dikshit handed over the first invitation of the Chamundi Hill Rathotsava (Oct. 17) and Theppostava (Oct.19) to Wadiyar.
