“The country is found lagging far behind in providing pure drinking water and proper sanitation facilities to citizens and the management students should work towards finding solutions to such problems,” opined Dr. R. Balasubramaniam, Founder & Chairman, Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, Mysore.
He was speaking after inaugurating the AICTE approved two-year full-time PGDM (Post-Graduate Diploma Management) programme at Bhavan’s Priyamvada Birla Institute of Management, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Vijayanagar first stage in the city yesterday.
“Management does not mean only attending classes wearing suits. Many elements of management can be seen in our epics such as Bhagavadgita, Mahabharath and Upanishad. Also, lessons and texts on management can be drawn from the Internet in this modern era. But what is more important here is that students can learn culture and humanity in this prestigious Institute,” he remarked and called upon the students to imbibe management skills while learning.
N. Ramanuja, Chairman, BVB, Karnataka, presided. Prof. A.V. Narasimha Murthy, Chairman- BVB, Mysore; P.S. Ganapathy, Secretary; Dr. A.T. Bhashyam, Treasurer and Prof. Vishwanath, Institute Principal, were present on the occasion.
