Mysore, Aug. 3 (KK&KMC)- Lack of co-ordination between the MCC and the MUDA was brought to the fore this morning during Mayor Sandesh Swamy's visit to J.P. Nagar in city.
He took a strong exception to the MUDA's high-handedness in granting permission for construction of 100 apartments in the area, at a time when the MCC was finding it difficult to provide basic amenities like water, roads and drainage system to the existing residents of the region.
Sandesh pointed out that it was wrong on the part of MUDA to grant permission without proper planning and design and said that the area had been earlier designed as an industrial layout. "Constructing 100 apartments is a burden on MCC," he said.
The Mayor visited the area following complaints about muddy water being supplied and the residents' suspicions about it being a mixture of sewage water. Denying the charges, he said that water was being supplied to the area from 10 borewells. In order to allay their suspicions, Sandesh gulped a few mouthfuls of water from a tap nearby.
He then directed Vani Vilas Water Works Executive Engineer Balasubramanyam to collect samples of water supplied to the region, send them for lab analysis and submit a report within a week.
Corporator Bhyrappa, Asst. Commissioner Sridhar, Health Officer Nagaraj were present.
