In the view of the famous Panchalinga Darshana Mahotsava to be held in Talkad of T. Narasipur taluk in the district on Dec. 2, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ramegowda visited the Vaidyanatheswara temple complex in Talkad on Wednesday and inspected the place to set up a temporary bus stand, revamp the approach roads and other infrastructure.

The DC later held a meeting of senior officers to apprise them about the needed preparations for the festival.

In expectation of lakhs of devotees for the fest, the DC asked officials to organise a one-way route near the temple to avoid congestion and traffic snarls.

He instructed the PWD officials to erect temporary barricades and helipad, good metal railings at the temple, renovation of the guest houses and repair all approach roads to Talkad.

He asked the Health Department officials to ensure safety measures to prevent outbreak of any epidemic disease. He instructed them to set up a temporary hospital, maintain a good stock of essential medicines and keep the entire area clean.

Police officers were asked to set up an outpost and ensure enough security for devotees.

The officials of Kannada and Culture Department were instructed to organise good cultural programmes without any hiccups and with good publicity.

The DC asked the CESC officers to install a permanent transformer for the need of the five temples along with a stand-by generator. The officials of KSRTC were asked to provide good transport facility to reach Mudukuthore and Talkad along with mini buses to commute between temples. He asked them to organise package tours also.

The DC asked the Fire service personnel to take all steps to counter any eventuality. ZP CEO P.A. Gopal, SP Abhinav Khare, DHO Dr. S.M. Malegowda and others attended the meeting.
