Over 300 farmers including several women took out a procession from Gun House Circle to DC's office in city this morning as a mark of protest against the ineptness of District Administration in tackling farmer-related issues.
The rally was organised by Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene.
The farmers later staged a demonstration in front of the DC's office urging for fulfilment of various demands like protecting the interests of farmers in Kapila and Cauvery basins, re-opening of Srirama Sugar factory in Chunchanakatte, six hours continuous three phase power to agriculture pumpsets and good price for milk suppliers. They sought immediate posting of a regular DC.
Raitha Sangha Secretary Badagalapura Nagendra, Hoskote Basavaraj, Saragur Nataraj and others led the protest.
