Thousands of tourists visiting the Amba Vilas Palace will now get an additional entertainment as they can watch the activities of Mysore Dasara 2013 elephants sheltered there.
The tourists never forget to visit the Palace and the ever-increasing influx of tourists with Dasara fast approaching has the authorities on their tenterhooks, with the Police erecting barricades around the corridor where the elephants are sheltered.
The Palace authorities, in order to meet the demand of tourists, have introduced battery-operated vehicles to have a ‘tour’ in the Palace premises with the vehicle operators and guides taking the tourists close to the camping elephants.
The visitors were seen vying with each other to have a glimpse of the elephants from a close range and clicking them.
The Police, however, have made appropriate arrangements to ensure that tourists keep a safe distance from the elephants.
The Mounted Police too are making rounds to ensure that the visitors do not cross the barricades to get more closer to the elephants.
The tickets for the battery-operated vehicle are available between 10 am and 6 pm at the entrance of Mysore Palace and priced at Rs. 40 for adults and Rs. 20 for children.
