The Literary Club of the Department of English is hosting a UGC-sponsored national seminar on ‘Feminist Aesthetics’ in collaboration with the Centre for Women’s Studies, Mysore University on Sept.14.

The day-long seminar will host experts in the field, academicians and research scholars from all parts of India. The college invites research articles from students, scholars and professors. The national seminar will be inaugurated by renowned Kannada novelist Vaidehi, Sahitya Academy Awardee from Udupi. Besides Prof. S. Mangala of the Centre of Women studies, the seminar will have Prof. Shankara Swamy, Prof. H.N. Deshpande, Prof. Punidavalli, Dr. Clement, Prof. Nirmala C. Prakash, Prof. Yashodha Nanjappa, Prof. B.N. Balajee and Vidushi Mithra Naveen as resource persons.

The inaugural will be held at 9.30 am and the plenary session will begin at 11 am. It will be addressed by Prof. T.R.S. Sharma of the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Prof. Rajendra Chenni of Kuvempu University and Dr. Dharani Devi Malagatti, poet, author and Dy. Director of Karnataka Police Academy, Mysore.

The college will present a dance-drama programme based on the compositions of women poets of Karnataka in particular and India in general at 4 pm by Vidushi Mitra Naveen and party.
