Nanjangud, Mar. 26 (SH)- On the eve of the annual Doddajaatre here tomorrow, the entire town is wearing a bridal look with floral decorations and buntings made of Mango leaves adorning the streets, shops, office fronts and residences.
Thousands of people are making a beeline to the shrine of Lord Srikanteshwara of Nanjangud, known also as Dakshina Kashi.
The District Administration has made elaborate preparations to ensure an orderly event. The festival has been planned to be ce-lebrated similar to the recently held Panchalinga Darshana at Talkad. The government has sanctioned Rs. one crore for the fest which has been utilised by District Administration to create basic facilities such as drinking water supply, toilets and health-care services for the devotees.
More than one lakh devotees are expected to arrive in the temple-town for the occasion.
Steps have been taken to distribute prasada to the devotees coming from outside tonight at Dasoha Bhavana. KSRTC has made arrangements for special buses to the temple. The trips by buses within the town limits will not be charged, said Anuradha, Executive Officer of the temple.
