Mysore, June 6 (HT&DM)- A unique musical nite in aid of the physically challenged was held at Manasagangotri's Rani Bahadur Auditorium here last evening under the auspices of the Rotary Club of Mysore East.

Multi-lingual singer Vasantha Sashi had come all the way from New Jersey, USA, to sing in this musical nite titled Naadha Spandana.

Vasantha Sashi mesmerised the audience by singing Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and English songs in her melodious voice.

She began her programme by singing Ganapathi Sloka. She later on ventured into experimentation by singing a mix of songs of different languages with a background of Karaoke music.

Singers D. Ashok and Hemachandra too lent their voices to Vasantha Sashi in the two-hour musical nite, the proceeds of which will be spent for the welfare of the disabled.

Ealier, Star of Mysore Editor In-Chief K.B. Ganapathy, who spoke after inaugurating the programme, said, "One can lead a life of peace through music. The country has attached great significance to music since ages and most of the Seers use music as a means of healing."

Rtn. Sudhir Bhat, Assistant Governor, Zone VII- RI Dist. 3180, Rtn. R.V. Krishnamurthy, President, Rotary Club of Mysore East, Rtn. Rajendra, Rtn. Vish-wanath, Rtn. Kishore Biddappa, Malini Srinivasan and Indra Ballal were present.
