Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Mysore, has been nominated as Institutional Member of WAZA (World Association of Zoos and Aquariums). The WAZA Membership implies that all members will endeavor to keep a high standard of: 1. Husbandry and Veterinary care; 2. Participation in coordinated species management programmes; 3. Contribution on relevant scientific studies; 4. Compliance with national and international legislation; 5. Maintenance of animal record systems; 6. Environmental education programmes; 7. Conservation activities; 8. Ethical guidelines; 9. Support of regional and national associations.
