The University of Mysore has decided to confer Hon. Doctorates on five persons for their outstanding services in various fields.
Announcing this, Mysore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa yesterday said that Governor H.R. Bharadwaj, who is also the Chancellor of the University, had recommended the names of Scientist Prof. Roddam Narasimha of Channapatna, Cardiologist Dr. C.N. Manjunath of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, Gandhian O. Sreenivasaiah, Cricketer Anil Kumble and Secretary General of Lok Sabha T.K.Vishwanathan for Hon. Doctorate.
He further said that the five dignitaries would be conferred with doctorates at the 93rd Annual Convocation of the University to be held at 10 am on July 5 by Governor H.R. Bharadwaj in which Union HRD Minister Dr. M.M. Pallam Raju will deliver the keynote address. Higher Education Minister R.V. Deshpande, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa, Registrars, Syndicate members and members of Academic Council of the University will be present.
