In recent times, Mysore has witnessed a decrease in the number of international tourists. The lack of promotions at the international level has been one of the reasons for the decrease.

Noting the considerable fall in the international tourist population, the District Administration has decided to promote Dasara across the world to attract tourists from all countries.

The Dasara website, which will be launched shortly, will have unique features to help the international community understand the concept of Mysore Dasara and get to know about important tourist locations in and around Mysore city.

The multi-lingual Dasara website will have 3D images of important locations in Mysore. Recently, during a high level meeting, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah is said to have instructed the officials regarding measures to be taken up to attract tourists from abroad.

Following this, the District Administration has planned to come out with a website with unique features.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha said that this year’s Dasara website will have more features.

The website will be launched in languages such as German and French to help the tourists understand the concept of Dasara.

The District Administration will also have a live streaming of all major events during Dasara on the website to help people living in foreign countries to enjoy the Dasara celebrations in Mysore.

To make Dasara more attractive, District Administration will also invite artistes from various States and countries who will be performing at different venues across the city.

“This year’s Dasara will be a blend of programmes by local, State, national and international artistes. We have been contacting the officials concerned both at local and national level to send a list of artistes who will participate in various cultural programmes to be organised during Dasara festivities. Emphasis will also be given to folk artistes,” said DC Shikha.
