The Central Muslim Welfare Council, Mysore and SIGMA Foundation, Bangalore, had organised a career guidance and scholarship awareness programme for SSLC and PUC students at Arafath Function Hall here on Wednesday. Students, who have passed SSLC and PUC, along with their parents attended the programme to select their career and future courses.
The function began with the recitation of some verses from Quran by Hazrath Moulana Maqbool Ahmed Nizami Saheb.
Syed Zaheer Ahmed, Council Secretary, welcomed. Dr. Syed Akheel Ahmed, Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Mysore, released a hand book on 'Courses and career after 10th and II PUC.'
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Syed Akheel Ahmed said that choosing suitable courses after SSLC and PUC was the first step in building one's career and added that quality education was must for one's future courses.
Ameen Mudassar, Career Counsellor, CIGMA India, Bangalore, presented a power point presentation and explained in detailed what a student can choose for his future studies.
Prof. Hafeez, Head of the Department of Physics, Islamia Institute of Technology, Bangalore, briefed about Islamia Institute of Technology.
Safwan, Director, Physical Education, Beary Institute of Technology, Mangalore and Ameen Mudassar of Shaheen PUCollege, Bangalore also spoke. Taher Ahmed, volunteer, CIGMA Foundations, explained about the scholarships the students can avail from the Government and private organisations. Later a question and answer session was held. Nearly 1500 students attended the programme.
