MUDA Commissioner Dr. C.G. Betsurmath yesterday inspected the works of the hi-tech crematorium being built by MUDA at an approximate cost of Rs. 6 crore on a 4 acre plot of land in Vijayanagar 4th Stage which is nearing completion.

The works of landscaping, electrical and gas furnace,gas and chimney, water supply and UGD connection, electrification etc. are also nearing completion.

The crematorium has both gas and electrically operated furnaces besides having a huge parking lot along with toilets, bathrooms and rooms for performing rituals.

The crematorium looks like a stadium from a distance and a huge arch is constructed at the entrance. (See pic. below)

Bethsurmath said that placards of various slogans regarding life and death will be put up at the premises.

He further said that two more hi-tech crematoriums will be constructed in city besides developing the burrial ground in K.G. Koppal.

MUDA Executive Engineer S. Veerabhadraiah, Zonal officer B.S. Krishnamurthy and concerned engineers were present during the inspection.
